  1. The picture looks kind of red on my computer here. And of course, its old, so its wearing off.but is it that red in person ? I wonder if its tempera paint. i wonder if the red didn’t fade over the years.

    1. Hi Chris, yes it was this red in person which was suprising! A lot of the walls in the area this picture was taken were still very vibrant…they used a crimson cinabar pigment in a lot of the wall paintings, but many are darkening…probably a naturual chemical process or sun/rain??
